Daniel Barasa is a Portfolio Manager with primary responsibility for the firm’s healthcare investments. In this role, he leads research, security selection, and risk management for the healthcare portfolio and contributes to overall portfolio construction. He joined Gabelli in 2022 as an analyst covering pharmaceuticals, healthcare providers and services, managed care, and life sciences tools (CROs). Previously, he worked as an actuary at Cigna and New York Life. Daniel graduated summa cum laude from Berea College with a BA in Economics and Mathematics and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is also a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
