The GAMCO Large Cap Value strategy is a high conviction portfolio of approximately 50 to 60 holdings focused primarily on Large Cap companies. Security selection is the primary source of alpha generation and fundamental research is the key to outperformance. Rigorous company and sector research, combined with long-term accumulated knowledge of certain sectors and companies over decades, creates GAMCO’s information advantage. The strategy tends to realize high active share as the team utilizes a broad, global benchmark-agnostic research universe and a long-term investment horizon to uncover opportunities overlooked by most investors. Sources of long-term expected value is 80% from security selection and 20% from sector allocation.
