Gabelli Securities Group, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of GAMCO Investors, Inc., files a Form 10

Welcome to the online home for corporate updates from GAMCO Investors, Inc. regarding the planned separation of our Alternative Asset Management and Institutional Research Services businesses into a new public company called Gabelli Securities Group, Inc.

In April of 2015, GAMCO Investors Inc.'s board approved the next step in the process to separate GAMCO Investors, Inc. into two, independent publicly traded organizations. We believe it will further enhance the long-term value-creation of both businesses. The separation would provide each company with increased strategic flexibility to pursue its own distinctive business plan and allow each to have a capital structure and capital return policy that is appropriate for its business. This structure is designed to enhance shareholder value by allowing us greater visibility in terms of our business plan as well as to attract the most talented individuals and align their interests with the respective operations. It will also provide greater clarity regarding enhancing returns for all who have entrusted a portion of their assets to us. The separation will offer shareholders the best path to sustainable shareholder value and will also create two distinct, attractive investment opportunities for GAMCO Investors, Inc. shareholders.

The company expects to complete the separation transaction as a tax-free spin off in the second half of 2015 – subject to market, regulatory and certain other conditions.

As we navigate this transformative period, our leadership and the GAMCO Investors, Inc. Board of Directors will provide regular updates, and we will share updates on our progress via this platform.

Please check back often for performance updates, to meet our executives and to track our strategic progress as we move quickly to solidify GAMCO Investors, Inc. and Gabelli Securities Group, Inc. as standalone businesses that are well positioned for long-term growth.
