Gabelli Asset Management Inc. (NYSE: GBL) named 23-year veteran executive Douglas R. Jamieson to the
new position of President and Chief Operating Officer, where he will oversee all of the company's
business units and work closely with its mutual funds, administration operation and securities trading.
For the past 18 years, Mr. Jamieson has been chief operating officer of our money management firm's
GAMCO business, which currently manages some $13 billion of assets in private advisory accounts for
institutional investors and high net worth individuals. That is up from $1 billion of assets managed
in 1986, when Mr. Jamieson assumed the COO duties there.
"Doug's contribution to the Gabelli enterprise has been exceptional over many years. He is a key to
the growth and success of the firm and brings a detailed knowledge of our business as COO," said
Mario J. Gabelli, the company's Chief Executive Officer.
Doug will oversee all facets of our business, including Gabelli Asset Management, Inc., our institutional and
high net worth business, Gabelli Funds LLC, which embraces our mutual funds, and Gabelli Securities Inc.,
which includes our alternative (hedge fund) and institutional broker dealer business.
Mr. Jamieson is a 1982 graduate of Columbia Business School with an MBA in finance and accounting.
He completed his undergraduate studies at Bucknell University.
Gabelli Asset Management Inc., through its subsidiaries, manages approximately $27 billion in assets
of private advisory accounts (GAMCO), mutual funds and closed-end funds (Gabelli Funds, LLC), and
partnerships and offshore funds (Alternative Investment Group).
